2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 LS1/6spd
Motor Swap
All of this could have been avoided if the parking lot wasn't flooded and the drain was actually working. The engine hydro-locked and...well...the rest is history. Time for a new engine - 383 Stroker that is with reduced compression (9.5:1 Forged for the upcoming ATI Procharger), CompCams Xtreme 269 Camshaft, CompCams 1.7 Roller Rockers (w/matching springs, guideplates, and pushrods), forged rods, and oversized valves (no porting on the heads as it's not required with the LS1 heads unless it's an extreme build-up).
Normally, you remove the K-Member and Transmission...and drop it out the bottom. We didn't have room under the vehicle so we did it the hard way - out the top. Overall, it's not much harder than one would think to pull the engine out the top - just takes some experience and removing the correct parts in order. The new engine is already installed and running (finally).
